The former Majority Leader of the California State Assembly, Ian C. Calderon tweeted recently that he’s working on a project that would push for Bitcoin to be made legal tender in the state. This comes on the heels of Arizona legislators introducing crypto-related rules that would increase acceptance in the state. According to a new report, Calderon is collaborating with Bitcoin expert Dennis Porter. His tweet read, “Together, Dennis Porter and I are working on a bi-partisan effort to legislatively explore Bitcoin as legal tender in the State of California. More to come.” Interestingly, California was ranked as the most crypto-ready jurisdiction in America. The state has seen many crypto ATMs pop up along with increasing interest in digital assets. Moreover, the state is a technology hub, with Silicon Valley serving as the Mecca of the American tech sector. At press time, Bitcoin was trading at just under $37,500, down more than 2% on a decreasing market cap and a steady increase in volume.
